P.1 #8 p.1 #8 Dot-Tune: Autofocus Fine Tuning in under 5 minutes I tried a simplified centering method about a year ago with the dreaded D7000. Although it allowed more accurate assisted manual focus, the AF problems continued. Apparently the auto AF fine tune feature uses the first number it matches with the focus attained via Live View AF. That's it, no further calibration takes place in the camera. This would explain the extremely mixed results people are seeing with this feature. Extreme resolution meets extreme speed.
